Ole Windmill Estates History

The original patent for Ole Windmill Estates was purchased on November 16, 1894.  President Grover Cleveland issured the patent to James McGee for a total payment of $4.45 ($4 for 160 acres of land and $.45 for the testimony fee)

History ran its course with the land being sold and divided many times.  In 1978, a section of the land was purchases by Joyce Homes, James C. Menifee - President.  With utility lines and easements in place, Pine Ridge Lumber, Inc dedicated Ole Windmill Estates as a subdivision on June 2 1983.  The land was divided into lots and blocks and sold for construction of single family homes.

On May 24, 1983, Ole Windmill Estates Owner's Association was incorporated as a non-profit corporation with all of its declarations, restrictions, covenants and by-laws filed of record May 25, 1983.

The Owner's Association now meets annually with the Board of Directors meeting monthy or as needed according to the business at hand.  Current homeowner's dues $200.00. Dues are used for the maintenance of the greenbelt area and entrances into the addition.  The Association also hosts several social events for the neighborhood.
